NSA Statement on Confirmation of New Secretary of Homeland Secretary
The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) released the following statement in praise of the conformation of Alejandro Mayorkas as Secretary of Homeland Security.
“America’s Sheriffs are proud to have supported Mr. Mayorkas’s nomination from the beginning and look forward to working together to keep our communities safe,” said NSA President Dave Mahoney, Dane County, WI. “We applaud this confirmation and are ready to go to work with him.”
“He has committed his career and life to upholding and adhering to the rule of law, and our work with him from day one has been focused on this principle. He listened to, remembered our point of view, comfortably reacted, and took action that considered local law enforcement’s needs,” added NSA Executive Director and CEO Jonathan Thompson.
