Victims of Domestic Violence Transportation Request for Proposals (RFP)
The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) and Lyft have partnered on a pilot project to assist victims of domestic violence with transportation. The NSA is currently seeking proposals for this opportunity to connect Sheriffs’ Offices with domestic violence shelters to provide transportation to victims of domestic violence and abuse.
The NSA will identify two Sheriffs’ Offices having positive working relationships with domestic violence agencies to identify transportation needs that can be achieved with rideshare credits. Lyft will provide a specific number of ride credits to be distributed to clients through the shelter or agency to be used over a period of time. The ride credits can be used for health care or counseling appointments, job interviews, or any other need demonstrated by the clients or as the agency or shelter sees fit.
The NSA and Lyft are using this pilot project to conclude if this is a needed service which could be expanded in other areas and will evaluate this program over the next year.
Please submit your request by Friday, June 7, 2019 to Mike Sabol at msabol@sheriffs.org. He can also be contacted for more information.
