Muhlenberg County Sheriff Ricki Allen Passes Away Unexpectedly
A memorial is growing outside of the Muhlenberg County courthouse in memory of the 52-year-old man.
Kentucky State Police say Allen died Tuesday morning, and no foul play is suspected. The agency is conducting the death investigation. Troopers say he died of a suspected medical issue.
“A contagious person, a beautiful person. Smiled a lot. Poured himself into people," said Judge-Executive Curtis McGehee. "He was an investor in people. To me, he was not just an acquaintance, but a real friend. A very close friend. Many times he and I have sat and talked for an hour, maybe two hours, about our jobs or life. We’re going to miss him, this whole community is going to miss him.”
