Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance's death is coronavirus related, coroner says

Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance died from complications of the coronavirus, Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart confirmed Thursday morning.

He died of cardiorespiratory failure, the coroner said, but his death is categorized coronavirus-related.

Vance was pronounced dead just after 11 a.m. Wednesday after medical personnel were called to his home. His death occurred while he remained in quarantine after announcing he had tested positive for the delta variant of the coronavirus on July 23.
