NSA Mourns the Passing of Bobby Timmons

March 26, 2024 (Alexandria, VA) – The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) extends it condolences to the family of Robert D. “Bobby” Timmons, to the Sheriffs of Alabama, and to the staff of the Alabama Sheriffs Association (ASA) upon the March 22nd passing of Mr. Timmons, who served for over 47 years as the ASA Executive Director.
 
NSA Executive Committee Member/Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack (Baldwin County, AL) acknowledged Mr. Timmons and encapsulated the legacy of the former ASA Executive Director in this way at the time of his retirement from ASA in 2022: “Bobby Timmons has not only devoted his life to Sheriffs, but also to the NSA. He has been a great counsel and advocate for many Sheriffs and Executive Directors across this nation.”  
 
And NSA Board Member/Sheriff Heath Taylor (Russell County, AL) remembered Mr. Timmons in this way at the time of his passing: “There has never been a more loyal person to the Office of Sheriff than Bobby ‘Boss Hog’ Timmons. He loved Sheriffs and what the Office of Sheriff stands for. He will be missed by many.”
