Lynn County Sheriff Abraham Vega Passes Away after Being Diagnosed with Coronavirus

Late Saturday night (July 11th), KFYO News learned that Lynn County Sheriff Abraham Vega passed away due to complications from the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

Sheriff Vega had been diagnosed with coronavirus in June, was hospitalized in Lubbock, and then on July 7th airlifted to a hospital in Dallas for continued treatment.

After news of his passing began to make its way through the law enforcement community, tributes to Sheriff Vega began to appear on social media, including from Spur Police Chief Robert Garcia.
