Deputy creates way for sheriff's office, businesses to 'help' Santa with kids' letters

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — With everyone trying to find a bit of cheer this holiday season despite the ongoing pandemic, one local sheriff's deputy has stepped up in a big way to make the holidays extra fun for his community.

Deputy Trevor Williams of the Henderson County Sheriff's Office got the idea to set up a Santa's letterbox in front of the Sheriff's office. He enlisted several local businesses to make and set it up, and for the last several weeks, kids in the county have dropped off their letters to Santa.

From there, office staff have "helped" Santa by answering those letters. So far, 679 letters have been left for the big guy.
