He was our friend, my neighbor and loved by all in this community and is truly missed. He leaves behind a wife and two young beautiful daughters. Over 4000 people attended his funeral from all over the United States. Seaside has a population of about 6000 people. We honor this man by flying the flag of the United States of America at half mast and as Deputy Sheriffs we stand united with our fellow municipal Officers. My Deputies are proud men and women who sacrifice much and understand that every day they too may see their end of watch. Thank you for this opportunity. Sheriff Tom Bergin
