Flagler County sheriff’s deputies recover 15 kilos of soggy cocaine on beach
Flagler County sheriff’s deputies made the catch of the day — recovering 15 kilos of water-logged cocaine bundles that washed ashore in a duffle bag Friday night.
An anonymous caller tipped off deputies to the soggy drugs found about 7 p.m. on the beach along Surfview Drive in the Hammock area of Palm Coast, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.
Covered in barnacles and seaweed, the duffle bag contained 15 individually wrapped packages that field-tested positive for cocaine. The bag also contained a large amount of sand and sea shells indicating it had been in the ocean for some time, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
