As Sheriffs of this great nation, our sworn duty is to protect those we serve. We are in office, elected by the people, to give voice to the public safety concerns of the American people. The American Sheriff Alliance, comprised of Sheriffs from the National Sheriffs’ Association, Major County Sheriffs of America, Western States Sheriffs’ Association, Southwestern Border Sheriffs’ Coalition, and the Texas Border Sheriff’s Coalition, issues this position statement to our nation’s leaders and to the American public related to immigration and border security matters.
