Sheriff donates masks to student-athletes

Local student-athletes have received anti-COVID face masks donated by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

The Germantown and Ichabod Crane school districts announced they received thousands of masks through the donations.

“Hats off to Sheriff [David] Bartlett, he got 50,000 masks donated to them from Ford Motor Company,”said Germantown Central School District Superintendent Benjamin Bragg.

“He donated a bunch of them, 2,280 masks, to us, knowing that we started sports back up and they have towear masks while they’re playing or practicing, and they get dirty all the time,” Bragg said. “It was just agreat opportunity for the local sheriff’s department to work with our schools.”
