Ford and Sheriffs Distribute Over 2 Million Masks to Sheriff’s Offices Nationwide

WASHINGTON, DC – The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) announced today through a partnership with the Ford Motor Company Fund, more than 2 million protective masks have been distributed to more than 300 Sheriff’s offices across the United States in just a few weeks. This is on top of the 2.5 million masks to 48 states delivered in 2020 with the help of REFORM Alliance, Motorola, SwabTek and Under Armour.

“We are grateful for Ford’s generosity during this critical time for communities combating COVID-19,” NSA President and Dane (WI) Wisconsin Sheriff Dave Mahoney said.

“Ford is a great partner for many offices around the country and with this program helping more than 300 agencies stay safe.”

Ford Motor Company is encouraging Americans to #FinishStrong—to pull together and protect each other to help save lives in the months ahead. As the company’s philanthropic arm, Ford Fund is leading Ford’s effort to donate 120 million masks to at-risk communities across the United States by mid-2021.

“Our goal throughout the mask donation process has been to provide masks to those in greatest need or without access”, said Pamela Alexander, Director, Ford Motor Company Fund. “First Responders have been on the front lines from the beginning and helping to keep them and our communities safe is something we’re very proud of.”

Since August, Ford has distributed more than 86 million medical-grade masks to nonprofit organizations, state and local officials, first responders, schools, community groups and Ford dealerships in all 50 states.
